Changing your health story is an inside job

You’re in the right place if:

  • You are living with chronic pain or chronic illness of unknown origins, or a diagnosis of “genetic destiny” (an illness you’ve been told is coded in your genes)

  • You have been told you will live with your condition forever, and managing your symptoms is your best option for improving your quality of life

  • Despite your best efforts, you have not experienced lasting relief through Western medical treatment or other healing modalities, but believe you still have the potential to heal

  • You are looking for a more sustainable, more holistic, and more effective option that’s rooted in science

My name is Molly Bennett, and I teach The Fajardo Method of Holistic Biomechanics.

As an Apprentice teacher of the Fajardo Method, I offer sessions in an individualized, one-on-one learning environment. You’ll learn more about this methodology and get to experience a movement practice rooted in nervous system awareness, that helps people change their motor patterns and resolve chronic pain and symptoms.

After years of pursuing options that kept me stuck, frustrated, and sick, I no longer meet the criteria for my previously diagnosed chronic illness (EDS) as a result of this practice.

What makes the Fajardo Method different?

Managing chronic health issues is exhausting. You’re probably made aware of how these difficulties impact your life on a daily basis and feel like you’re “on guard” constantly. You might have an extensive “toolbox” for dealing with different symptoms as they pop up, leaving you scrambling to keep track of all your strategies. Or you might feel nothing works that well for you and like you want to give up.

The Fajardo Method differs from other modalities because it isn’t about symptom management— it’s about treating the root cause.  When we focus on managing our symptoms, all of our attention goes to risk mitigation and staying vigilant about what may go wrong, rather than creating the conditions for foundational change in how our bodies function. Many of us assume that the bodily functions that contribute to or detract from our health are automatic and outside of our control, but this isn’t the case. In reality, we can create change in how our bodies function by creating the conditions for optimal learning in the brain.

The Fajardo Method recognizes the brain as the primary driver of learning in the body, and the organ in charge of your nervous system which directs the action in your other body systems. Through practicing the Fajardo Method you will learn how to use your conscious attention and movement to intentionally provide more sensory input to your brain. This creates the optimal conditions for your brain to learn. New instructions from the brain begin the cascade down to the rest of your body which leads to a radical shift in how your body functions at baseline.

In other words, you don’t just change in the moment you’re practicing the method. Over time and with consistency, your brain learns to recognize and favor those changes. They become the dominant operating system for your body. In this way, practicing the Fajardo Method can transform your physiology to support your health over the long-term.

How do I create the optimal conditions for my brain to learn?

  • 1. Notice Your Body

Putting your conscious attention on your structure (specific body parts such as bones, muscles, and organs) initiates the motor learning process.

  • 2. Sensory Nerves Fire

This attention wakes up your sensory nerves, which send signals to your brain about your structure’s position (where it is in space, and in relationship to the rest of the body).

  • 3. Brain Responds

Your brain processes the sensory nerve signals unconsciously, and responds by initiating a new motor pattern through your motor nerves.

  • 4. Structural Changes

Your body’s structural organization (how it’s positioned) and motor patterns (how your body moves) change in response to the motor signals from your brain.

“The progress Molly has helped me make with my health and sense of wellness has truly amazed me. I've been diagnosed with both chronic and acute conditions that have severely impacted my quality of life for as long as I've been alive. When I started practicing the Fajardo Method with Molly, the first change I noticed was the gradual absence of pain points that had bothered me for over a decade. Over time and with dedicated practice in our sessions and on my own, I can see and feel tangible changes in my physical structure that allow me to move, work, play, and rest with less and less pain. What's perhaps even more impactful is that my perception and emotional reaction to discomfort has shifted to the point where I now believe that I have some command of how my conditions affect me, even if they are considered chronic. Molly's guidance is wise and compassionate, and she tailors our sessions to how I feel physically and emotionally each week. I'd recommend working with her to anyone who is seeking to take an active role in reshaping their long-term health.”
